Alongside Anthony Padilla, Ian co-founded Smosh in 2005, launching what would become one of YouTube’s most iconic comedy brands and eventually into the largest independent, creator-led comedy brand on the internet. In addition to writing, directing, producing, and starring in hundreds of sketches, Ian has remained a constant creative force through Smosh’s many evolutions. Following Smosh’s reacquisition by Ian and Anthony in 2023, he now co-leads the company’s creative direction, helping steer original series like Try Not to Laugh, Smosh Summer Games, and newer ventures like Bit City. His vision and adaptability have made him instrumental in maintaining Smosh’s relevance across nearly two decades of digital content creation. 

Ian has had a hand in producing a number of web series over the years, including Krogzilla and Oishi High School Battle. He has appeared in films such as The Angry Birds Movie, as well as starring as himself in Smosh: The Movie with Anthony.
