ENNIS ESMER can currently be seen in season 2 of CW’s SIGHT UNSEEN, In CTV’s CHILDREN RUIN EVERYTHING, for which he won a Canadian Screen Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy in 2024 and 2023, and is nominated again in 2025. He recently starred opposite Rachel Sennott in the Netflix feature film I USED TO BE FUNNY, which premiered at the SXSW film festival and was nominated for the Grand Jury Award for Best Narrative Feature. Esmer also appears in the new fourth season of the CBS sitcom GHOSTS, and in the Netflix limited series THE MADNESS, starring Colman Domingo. In addition, he features in the third season of CBC’s time-travel drama PLAN B, and in a guest star role in LAW & ORDER TORONTO: CRIMINAL INTENT. Previously, Ennis starred as ‘Bashir Malik’ in CW’s THE FLASH, on NBC’s BLINDSPOT as fan favourite ‘Rich Dotcom’, the Amazon Studios series REDOAKS, and also as ‘Oz’ on the hit CTV television show THE LISTENER, which ran for five seasons. He is well known for his recurring roles on SCHITT’S CREEK, DirecTV’s YOU ME HER, SyFy’s DARK MATTER, FXX’s MAN SEEKING WOMAN, USA’s COVERT AFFAIRS and CW/CTV’s THE L.A. COMPLEX. On the silver screen, he starred in the independent comedy YOUNG PEOPLE F*CKING, which was selected for the 2007 Toronto International Film Festival. Ennis has also hosted all 4 seasons of Comedy Network staple ROAST BATTLE CANADA, and will be shooting season 5 this summer as part of JUST FOR LAUGHS.
